Also, I think tonight was one of my best rides and the most fun I've had. I wanted to bring home a podium and not make a silly mistake like the last few week - ends. I've been riding well, but my results haven't been there." Cooper Webb rode on a mis- sion to take fourth after being buried off the start, with Jason Anderson rounding out the top five. "Today actually went really well for me," said Webb. "I rode great all day, and practice went well. In the heat race, I got a great holeshot and was leading. Everything was great, and then I just tucked the front and had a crash. I didn't have the best gate style tracks and looks reminis - cent of his win at Indianapolis just one year ago. He set the fastest time of the main event and continued to blitz the tricky whoop section late into the race. He used this move around the outside to pass Eli Tomac for third. Like the Sexton-Lawrence situation ahead of him, Roczen was unable to close the gap and rode a somewhat lonely third for his second podium of the season. "I've been feeling super com - fortable in the whoops and was able to skim them for most of the main," Roczen said. "When you feel comfortable in the whoops, it makes everywhere else on the track feel comfort - podium of the year, the most of any rider on the grid. His con- sistency is paying off, too, as he retakes the points lead by one over Lawrence. "Tonight was one of my best rides on the new bike," Sexton said. "I was good in the begin - ning, and then Jett got away, but I started picking up on some of his lines. I started making a bit of a run but got cross-rutted in the whoops, and that was all I had; it was kind of over at that point. I wanted to make a bit of a charge and make him uncom - fortable, but I made a mistake in the meantime." Ken Roczen fought his way to third after a mid-pack start. "I struggled a little bit in practice to find a flow today," he said. "The track was super-technical with the ruts. I had a good heat race. It was nice to get the fresh track as the first race of the program, so that was cool. I charged up to third in the heat, then made a little change heading into the main event, and unfortunately, it was the wrong direction as I was pretty uncomfortable. Not so good result." Ken Roczen (94) used this move around Eli Tomac to take third.
