The AEO Powersports KTM rider, Turner, reported on social media that he fractured his left hip and also sustained a pos - sible fracture of his pelvis. "I'm pretty bummed, but this is part of the sport and stuff hap - pens," he said. "I'll learn from this mistake and be back stronger." Another rider taking a trip to the hospital was Kawasaki rider Dylan Walsh who crashed in qualifying. He reportedly suf - fered a laceration in his small intestine and underwent surgery Saturday night. The Host Grind- stone rider says he hopes to be healed up in time to ride the last half of the West Series. Luca Marini Speaks Honda O ne of the biggest transfers in the 2024 rider market was that of Luca Marini heading from the relative comfort of his fam- ily's VR46 Ducati team to the illustrious Repsol Honda team, which is currently in its worst pe- riod since taking over the factory Honda team in 1995. Marini will become the 20th rid- er in history to wear the colors of the Repsol Honda team as a full- time entrant. He joined the world championship on a permanent basis in Moto3 in 2016, and has since gone on to take six wins, 15 podiums and five pole positions in the Moto2 World Championship before stepping up to the premier class in 2021. Marini took a debut MotoGP podium last year in Austin at the Circuit of the Americas, finishing second behind Alex Rins on the LCR Honda machine.
