Luca Marini Speaks Honda
O
ne of the biggest transfers
in the 2024 rider market was
that of Luca Marini heading from
the relative comfort of his fam-
ily's VR46 Ducati team to the
illustrious Repsol Honda team,
which is currently in its worst pe-
riod since taking over the factory
Honda team in 1995.
Marini will become the 20th rid-
er in history to wear the colors of
the Repsol Honda team as a full-
time entrant. He joined the world
championship on a permanent
basis in Moto3 in 2016, and has
since gone on to take six wins, 15
podiums and five pole positions
in the Moto2 World Championship
before stepping up to the premier
class in 2021.
Marini took a debut MotoGP
podium last year in Austin at the
Circuit of the Americas, finishing
second behind Alex Rins on the
LCR Honda machine.
Here, the Italian breaks down his
surprising move to Repsol Honda
and details how he plans to return
the team to the front now that Marc
Marquez has left for Ducati.
