CryptoDATA RNF Expelled From MotoGP
R
NF Aprilia was thrown into
crisis after learning that
Dorna had expelled CryptoDATA,
the team's 60% stakeholder, from
the paddock, while 40 percent
stakeholder and former Team
Principle Razlan Razali also left
the outfit.
"It has been an amazing run,"
posted Razali said on social
media Friday night. "A once-in-a-
lifetime opportunity to manage
and own a MotoGP team in the
World Championship. We know
what it's like to win and espe
-
cially in losing."
A statement from the team
on Saturday addressed some
rumors, namely that CryptoDATA,
the 60 percent shareholder of the
squad, owed numerous suppliers
a lot of money, as well as Dorna,
for their sponsorship payment of
the Austrian GP that reportedly
hasn't been made, was untrue.
"The decision for Razlan Raza
-
li not to be part of the RNF Team
management was not only from
yesterday but was taken more
than one month ago, due to the
pressure made by the sharehold-
ers following poor performance
and financial decision," read the
statement. CryptoDATA was ada
-
mant they would move forward
as usual in 2024.
But a statement from Dorna
on Monday confirmed CryptoDA-
TA had been expelled from the
championship. "The MotoGP Se-
lection Committee, comprising
members of FIM, IRTA and Dorna
Sports, have decided not to
select the CryptoDATA RNF Mo-
toGP Team for the 2024 season,"
read the statement. "Repeated
infractions and breaches of the
Participation Agreement affect-
ing the public image of MotoGP
have obliged this decision.
"The Selection Committee will
be reviewing applications for a
new Independent Team, using
Aprilia machinery, to join the
