ROUND 14 / SEPTEMBER 29-OCTOBER 1, 2023 MOTEGI MOBILITY RESORT / TOCHIGI, JAPAN MOTOGP I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P74 Bagnaia, Marquez had muscled his way up to third ahead of Bez- zecchi, with Espargaro, Miller, Augusto Fernandez (GasGas Factory Racing Tech3), Di an impossibility, and thus the race was formally declared with full points awarded. Jorge Martin took the win, closing another five points to back straight to retake the lead. Bagnaia worked his way past Espargaro for second on lap seven and Bezzecchi had Miguel Oliveira (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team Aprilia) and Marquez for company as the rain really started to lash down. Conditions grew even worse over the next five minutes and on the 13th of 24 laps, the race organizers, seeing the bikes aquaplaning, visibility reduced to almost nothing, and crashing to destruction at the hands of Johann Zarco, decided to pull out the red flag. At this stage they still had the aim of restarting once condi - tions improved but this proved Sunday Grand Prix Maverick Vinales didn't make it past turn one in the Sunday GP.
