WIND IN THE P58 up ground. Petrucci, Rea and Bassani crossed the line as one determined angular trio. Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba. it Racing – Ducati) took fifth place and Remy Gardner sixth for the second time in a day. Bautista reasserted himself with his battling race-two per - formance, and he now has a 74-point lead over Razgatlioglu, 427-353. Rea is third with 251 points. Following a summer break, the championship will re - sume at Magny Cours in France, September 8-10. WorldSSP Another crazy race one starting melee into that impossibly tight first chicane saw several riders touch or runoff, with Lucas Ma - hias' Kawasaki leaking fuel from its full tank as it lay on the track, alongside lots of gravel and other crash detritus; one heavy clean-up later, and the 19-lap race became 12 laps. Pole man Nicolo Bulega won it on his official Ducati, Stefano Manzi would be second on his Ten Kate Yamaha, and just for the sake of variety, Bahattin Sofuoglu's MV Agusta ran out third, but only just from Raffaele De Rosa's Orelac Ducati. The overall championship fight is between Bulega and Manzi, so could the Yamaha rider pull things back together on Sunday at Most? The answer was no, but they both found bad luck as oth - ers found some strong form. The shock of the century came in race two when a dry start led to a wet middle and then a dry finish. The result was Tarran Mackenzie winning on his Petronas MIE Honda, by using all his skill in the wet and then his own pure cornering pace in the dry. He had a better motor for this round, supplied by Padgetts in the UK, and he made full use of it. He had a lead of eight sec - onds at one stage but won by just over two seconds. Second place went to Marcel Shroetter's MV Agusta and third to his team- mate Sofuoglu, once again, on a Most podium. A Honda and two MVs filling the race-two podium were a bet no bookmaker would touch, even in the weird conditions. Neither of the championship's leading riders scored a point in race two, as Manzi's bike stopped and Bulega was eventu - ally 16th. In the championship fight, Nicolo Bulega (a no-scorer in race two) leads with 308 points to Manzi's 262, with Schroetter third at 214. Gordon Ritchie WorldSBK Race 1 1. Jonathan Rea (Kaw) 2.
