Our cover story 50 years ago was our battle of the thunder twins
comparison test of the Norton 850 ($1795) and Yamaha 750 ($1554).
We favored the Norton... Dave Aldana was a double winner after taking
back-to-back National TT victories at Ascot... Mitch Mayes was the
overall winner at the Buzzards Hare Scrambles in the Southern California
desert. Bruce Ogilvie won the Trailbike class... Jaroslav Falta finished
ahead of Heikki Mikkola at the Inter-AMA Motocross at Delta, Ohio.
