around. To me the track was
terrible. I've ridden here seven
years now since I've been in
the U.S. and this was the worst
year."
Again, Plessinger found
himself fourth overall with two
fourth-place finishes, just one
tick off the podium.
Adam Cianciarulo (Monster
Energy Kawasaki) held down
fifth ahead of Ty Masterpool,
Garrett Marchbanks, Grant
Harlan and Frederik Noren who
all flip-floped their moto scores.
Jason Anderson (Monster
Energy Kawasaki) was 10th
overall after a thrilling third
in moto one, which was his
first podium of the outdoors
in the last year of his Yamaha
contract, battled near the front
in both motos. In the first,
he slugged it out with Jason
Anderson and Aaron Pless

inger, then went at it again with
Plessinger after getting the
short end of the stick in race
one. A fifth and a third earned
the 2021 champ third overall
and he continues to hold down
second in the points chase.
"It was a difficult day for
me. I struggled with the track,
myself, and the bike," said Fer

randis. "First moto, I was right
behind AP and just couldn't find
a way to pass. Then second
moto was opposite, I was
ahead, and he couldn't get

since his return. Unfortunately for
Anderson, though, he got caught
up in a multi-rider crash early in
the second moto. In the sand
roller section, two riders collided
in front of Anderson, resulting in
their bikes laying in the middle of
the track. Anderson clipped one of
them, putting him on the ground.
FORKNER,
MCELRATH BACK
Two familiar faces rejoined the series
at Millville. Austin Forkner returned
after his ACL injury at the Anaheim
Supercross and went 11-9 for 10th in
the 250MX class. "It felt good to be
back," Forkner said. "I lacked early
race intensity but felt strong in the
second half of the motos. My fitness
is great." Shane McElrath raced while
his main series (WSX) is on break
and finished 15th with 11-39 scores
in the 450MX class.
REYNOLDS SITS OUT
After missing the previous week
at Southwick, Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit Kawasaki's Jett Reynolds
did not suit up for the Spring Creek
National. The team says he's still
feeling ill. "Jett is still getting bet-
ter after not feeling well enough to
race at Southwick and will sit out
Millville," said Team Manager Lain
Southwell.

Sexton was close, but several mistakes
let a possible win slip away.
