"That second moto start was just about perfect," said Sexton. "Got into the lead and just got on the gas too hard. I got into that soft stuff and ex- pected to get traction and did not get traction. So I slid out and Jett got around me. Then after the finish line Jett made a big mistake, and I ended up crashing two turns later. We were going wide open and in the roost, you just can't see anything and I went right over the rut." Dylan Ferrandis is close, just not close enough. The Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha rider has been consis - tently third on the box, but he wants a win. Ferrandis, who is Lawrence honest, battling back from a crash in moto one and clawing back to the rear wheel of his Honda teammate. The pressure was on as the two matched lap times for nearly half the race before running into lapped traffic and then another tip over from Sexton on the final lap. He rebounded with a holeshot in moto two, but an early mistake and a later fall would seal the deal for Lawrence's overall win. Two heartfelt efforts and the fastest lap of the second moto show that Sexton is the closest rider to dethroning Jett Lawrence.
