ROUND 10/AUGUST 10, 2013 UNADILLA VALLEY SPORTS CENTER/NEW BERLIN, NEW YORK MOTOCROSS P52 LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP reer-best second overall, finishing third and second in the two motos. The MyPlash/Star Racing Yamaha rider led a couple of laps of the first moto, as well, which is a big improvement over his early season performances. "I finally found out what I was doing wrong at the start of the year," said Martin. "I found out I wasn't breathing, and my technique was off a little bit. With the help of Star Racing and the Carmichael Camp I was able to figure it out and turn it around. " Martin finished fourth overall at Millville, which is a track that is owned by his family. Getting second at Unadilla proved that his Millville result was not just a function of home field advantage. "Millville helped me out a lot," said Martin. "I got up front and was able to lead a couple of laps and that gave me confidence coming in here. So to do well here kind of addressed those issues where people thought I did good at Millville because it was my home track. To be able to back it up here is a good feeling for sure." Martin currently sits sixth in the 250 standings. Over the past few races, Ken Roczen has seen his once bright title hopes slowly slipping away. At Unadilla, the Red Bull KTM rider was simply no match for Tomac, and, Roczen even had problems dealing with some of the other riders and finished a fifth in moto one. Josh Grant has been fast lately, but now he's showing more consistency. "I honestly don't know what the problem was, this is not where I want to be and it's not how I want to ride," he said. "Today was just an off day. I will say, I had armpump pretty bad all of that first moto. I haven't had it that bad all year. I started off the day riding a total different suspension that we tried last week and I just felt off. So starting the first moto I went back to what he had been using before and totally struggled. So for the second moto we went back to the new settings and it was better. It was crazy, but after the first moto we had nothing to lose and I needed to learn what the difference was. But it seemed to make a bit of difference and I was able to put in a better ride." In moto two, the former MX2 World champ led the first nine laps, but finally gave way to Tomac on lap 10. "I tried everything I could to hold Eli off and as soon as he passed me I tried to go after him, to see what he was doing different from me," said Roczen. "It was a tough one, and I just couldn't go any faster." With just two races remaining on the schedule, Roczen has a lot of ground to make up to catch Tomac. "Anything can happen, we know that and I'm not putting my head down. We'll be giving it everything we have at the last two rounds," said Roczen. CN
