TEAM USA JUNIORS FIND GOLD
fter two days of racing in the
Monster Energy FIM Junior
Motocross World Championship
at Jinin, Czech Republic, August
10-11, it was all gold for TEAM
USA as the American squad and
one of its star riders, Aiden Tijero, were crowned champions.
The Junior Motocross World
Championship utilizes a threeclass format – 65cc, 85cc and
125cc – where young amateur
motocrossers from around the
world compete for both class
and team titles in the two-moto
format event.
Tijero had an impressive ride
in the 65cc class and his 1-2 tally
earned him the class title and
helped give Team USA the overall win over the Czech Republic
and Spain.
Finishing behind the young
American from California in the
65cc class was Sweden's Anton
Nagy (3-3) and Czech Republic's
Petr Polak (2-4).
Fellow American Sean Cantrell
also won his first moto in the 85cc
class, but a broken chain in the
second moto forced him to retire
and ruined his shot at the class
championship, which ended up

Edge Kawasaki's Brett Metcalfe clinched the 2013 Canadian MX1 Championship at Riverglade MX Park in Kamloops BC,
August 6, after winning the second moto and taking the overall
victory with a 3-1.
The Australian said racing in
Canada was a good experience
and "…getting the championship
is awesome."
With one round still left on
the calendar, Metcalfe has an
insurmountable points lead over
Yamaha rider Bobby Kiniry, who
won the first moto at Riverglade
and ended up second overall for
the day.
Kiniry enjoys a 33-point lead
over third place Jeremy Medaglia.
In the MX2 division, Austin
Politelli holds a comfortable
22-point cushion over Josh
Clark and a 65-point lead over
third place Topher Ingalls.
During a short break in the series, the new Canadian champ,
Metcalfe, headed to Unadilla
and the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, where
Aussie Brett Metcalfe is the new
Canadian National MX Champion
who wants to race in the U.S. fulltime again next year.
he went 10-6 for seventh overall.
Metcalfe hopes to land a fulltime ride in the U.S. again next
year.
