ROUND 10/AUGUST 10, 2013 UNADILLA VALLEY SPORTS CENTER/NEW BERLIN, NEW YORK MOTOCROSS P50 LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP Ryan Dungey saw his title hopes all but disappear at Unadilla. "Today was one of my tougher days, sometimes things just don't click," admitted Dungey. "We really fought it in practice today, and it was tough. We had some new stuff to try coming in here, and you really shouldn't be testing on the day of a race but we wanted to try it. I just didn't have anything for Villopoto in that first moto; he was on such a roll. And then in the second moto, I didn't get such a great start and just kind of fought things and had problems moving up." The second moto was one of Jake Weimer's best races of the year, by far. In the first moto, though, he got off to a slow start and was only able to move up into ninth by the end of the race. His second-moto performance was good enough to salvage a fourth overall finish. "I started inside the top 10, but I was getting shuffled around and I just couldn't find my marks and stay where I was. I eventually dropped back to about 15th before I was able to get things going and move up into ninth. I rode okay, but I just gave up too much at the start." In the second moto, Weimer got a much better start and was able to go the distance in third, although not without a bit of pressure. "I had a lot of heat there at the end from Dungey, I saw JG and Dungey behind me and when I saw Dungey get by JG I knew I was going to have to put down some fast laps," said Weimer. "Luckily we were at the end of the moto and I was able to get to the finish before he passed me. He almost got me in the final turn but I held on." 250 NATIONAL Eli Tomac served notice that his last two races were no flukes by posting the fastest timed practice – even faster than the best 450 time logged by Villopoto. This is indicative of the transformation
