with double-digit margins.
"It was a pretty brutal day,"
Lawrence said. "Today was
just survival. Get the best start
you can and just fight your way,
because at the end everyone
was so done. I'm just looking
forward to getting out of this
place and getting onto Millville,
that track's fun."
Sexton had his best showing
since returning to the series.
He made it a Honda 1-2 as he
logged two second places. But
Sexton made things interesting
by staying close to the 18. He
kept the rookie honest in the
early stages of both motos but
still succumbed to Lawrence's
dominant hold on the series.
Nevertheless, a few runs at
Lawrence's lead, along with the
fastest lap of moto two, showed
that Sexton is here to play in the
final half of the championship.
"It's a lot harder when you
haven't been racing; I realized
that today," Sexton said. "I feel
like my riding today was better, I
felt more solid on the bike. I just
didn't have it that second moto.
I was riding not very smooth and
when you don't ride smooth the
track will beat you up."
Dylan Ferrandis rounded out
the podium with two consistent
third-place finishes. The French

man is currently riding a wave
of podium momentum, finishing
on the box in the last five motos,
and used that to run up front
at Southwick. In moto one, he

15TH (12-17) 250MX
Fan-favorite Jimmy Decotis came out
of retirement for a one-off race and
scored points in both motos. "What
an awesome day at the Wick!" he
said. "Qualified P1 and went 12-17 for
15th overall and top privateer at my
first pro motocross race in five years.
I had a lot of emotions throughout
the day, I was so nervous I couldn't
believe it. Thankful is the only word I
can come up with."
24 RJ HAMPSHIRE
4TH(3-4) 250MX
RJ Hampshire clawed his way to
a moto podium but finished fourth
overall. "Nothing special, but I made
up a lot of points," he said. "I had two
decent starts and salvaged what I
could. I was 3-4 on the day and I'll
just keep plugging away. We're at
the halfway mark and I'm still in the
championship hunt."

Jett Lawrence continues to
amaze us. Just when things
looked like they'd start to get
difficult, the kid just keeps on win-
ning. He set the bar early in the
day, clocking the fastest qualify-
ing lap by two full seconds. In
the motos, Lawrence didn't take
either holeshot but still managed
to lead every lap, set the best
time in moto one, and take both
moto wins. With this he adds to
his already impressive win streak
which has grown to 12-0 as the
series crosses the halfway mark.
Even with Chase Sexton hot on
his heels at times, Lawrence
seemed to toy with his rivals
before crossing the line each time
