Our coverage of the Road Atlanta Dixie National Road Race was featured
in Cycle News issue #22 in 1973. New Zealand's Geo Perry was pictured
on the cover edging out Kel Carruthers for the win. Kenny Roberts
rounded out the podium... We also had coverage of the AMA National
Motocross from Road Atlanta, where Marty Tripes (250cc) and Pierre
Karsmakers (Open) took the wins... We tested the Honda CL450... Tom
White beat out Eddie Mulder to win the Ascot TT. Dan White finished
third... Little known "Buzz" Whitlatch emerged out of nowhere to win
the Burr Oaks National Enduro in Ohio.

LOOKING BACK I
Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson and Randy Mamola made it an
American sweep at the Austrian Grand Prix 30 years ago, and all three
were pictured on the cover of Cycle News... We also had coverage of
the Spanish Grand Prix from Jarama. Americans came close to another
sweep with Freddie Spencer taking the win ahead of Roberts. Japan's
Takazumi Katayama was third and Mamola fourth... Jay Springsteen
won the Louisville Half Mile... Mike Baldwin topped Road America...
Bob Hannah (250cc) and Broc Glover (500cc) won at Binghamton...
We tested the 1983 Kawasaki KDX200A.
