Levi Kitchen made it a 250SX
West podium sweep as he took
the final spot on the box. The
Monster Energy Star Racing Ya-
maha rider executed early with a
win in the regional heat race. He
came into the final race nearly
tied with Enzo Lopes for third in
the series points. Kitchen stayed
close to the front but eventually
lost the tow of the front runners,
Lawrence and Hampshire. His
efforts resulted in a third-place
finish which secured his spot in
the overall championship over
Lopes.
"Coming in [to the season]
I didn't really know what to
expect," Kitchen said. "At A1,
his momentum from his Denver
win into the series finale. His
holeshot resulted in the top spot
for the first seven laps before
the pass from Lawrence. Hamp
-
shire stayed relatively close and
finished second to Lawrence,
which ultimately earned him
second overall in the West
points chase.
"I truthfully thought I had an

other chance at taking another
win tonight," Hampshire said. "I
was pretty good in the whoops,
but I had a step out and just
didn't trust sending it after that.
He [Lawrence] laid it in there
pretty good. It's honestly the
best-case scenario because
things probably would've gotten
plan changed once he put a
decisive pass on race leader RJ
Hampshire.
"It still hasn't really sunk in
that that was my last one [250cc
race]," Lawrence said. "That was
a fun one. The track got pretty
technical, and the dirt got pretty
slick. In the heat race, it was like
ice and we weren't looking for
-
ward to it. This was a good way
to end my last 250 race."
Lawrence concludes the sea

son with another statement win,
as he moves to the 450cc class
for the summer's Pro Motocross
Championship.
