But it was an eventful race for Sexton. At one point, Sexton stalled his bike resulting in Barcia run- ning into him, with the GasGas rider, Barcia, going down. Barcia already had an encounter with Sexton moments earlier, so he wasn't happy with the second one, but their close get-togeth - ers seemed mostly unintention- al on both sides. "I had Justin [Barcia] behind me so I definitely didn't want to leave myself open," said Sexton, who crossed the finish line ap - proximately 12 seconds behind the lead duo. Webb quickly recovered and kept the pressure on the new leader, Tomac. Despite having never finished off the podium at Daytona, a win at this iconic venue has eluded the Red Bull KTM rider. He wanted to end that tonight but it wasn't to be. "I somehow hit neutral, and he got by me, but I tucked right in behind him," Webb said. "I was hoping for a mistake. We were going for it, and I think we both left it all out there on the track, that's for sure. Overall, I'm not stoked for second, but I gave it my best."
