Peters Perfect At AMA Kicker
Arenacross Opener
T
he AMA Kicker Arenacross
series kicked off November
18, with round one in Albany,
Georgia, at the MVP Arena.
Reigning Champion Kyle Peters
put down two near-perfect races
to take the overall victory.
Sporting the number-one
plate aboard his Phoenix Racing
Honda machine, Peters picked
up right where he left off last
season in Friday night's two-
moto format.
He grabbed the holeshot in
race one and led every lap en
route to the checkered flag. A
lackluster start in race two put
Peters back in fifth off the line.
He worked his way through the
pack and found himself second
by the race's halfway point.
PRMX Kawasaki's Josiah
Natzke took second in race one
and led nearly all of race two.
Natzke crossed the finish line
in first place ahead of Peters.
Unfortunately for Natzke, he was
docked two positions for jump-
ing on a red-cross flag during the
race. He was officially awarded
third in the race, which gave Pe-
ters the race win and overall vic-
tory. Natzke still finished second
overall with 2-3 finishes.
Firepower Honda's Gage
Linville took the last spot on the
podium overall. The Honda rider
has been getting his feet wet in
the pro ranks during the Austra-
lian Supercross Championship
but is back stateside to compete
in the AMA Arenacross Series.
Linville logged a fourth in race
one and was bumped to second
in race two following Natzke's
penalty.
