We gave sidehackers some love by picturing a team on the cover
competing at the Dirt Diggers Grand Prix and International Motocross from
Hopetown, California... We had coverage of the Alexander Moonshine 125
National Enduro from Albany, Ohio, and the Rose Capitol National Enduro
from Newark... We also covered the Trans-AMA Motocross from Arizona
Cycle Park in Phoenix, where German Ake Jonsson won again over
Heikki Mikkola and Roger DeCoster... We tested Kawasaki's F-11 250
Enduro which sold for $900.

LOOKING BACK
Terry Cunningham was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 40 years
ago for winning the Twin States National Enduro in Kentucky. It was
Cunningham's seventh win of the year. The factory Husqvarna rider had
already clinched the title... We showed our readers the 1983 off-road
lineup from Husqvarna and Maico... We tested the two-cylinder Suzuki
450GAZ street bike that sold for $2123... Dirt Bike magazine's Tom
Webb won two enduros—the Cowbell and Bad Mountain Enduros—in the
same weekend.

(Left) GNCC champ Scott
Summers proved he could win
out West, too, when he topped
the Hare Scrambles National in
Wickenburg, Arizona, 30 years

staff and friends race-tested the
2003 Honda XR650R at the 24
Hours of Glen Helen 20 years ago.
We were the best midpack team.
