backed EX 450F, Redondi
enjoyed leading for over an hour
before newly crowned AMA Hare
& Hound National Champion
Shirey made his way to the front.
FMF/P-Works/Troy Lee De-
signs FX 450-mounted Shirey led
for most of the last hour and a
half, stretching his lead to nearly
two minutes at one point. How-

closing stages.
"I was being a wuss and
started throwing up," Shirey
explained. With several riders
complaining of ingesting massive
quantities of dust and silt, that's
not surprising.
"The last three or four laps,
I saw that I was gaining [on
Shirey]; every lap I was gaining
more and more so I say [to my-
self], 'Go for it!" Redondi shared.
"The last lap, he was super-tired
and I was feeling very good so
I think I did my best lap time on
the last lap.
"I'm pretty happy. Also, Zane
had an issue on the bike, but
he was super-lucky [after being
down a lap] and got fourth place
[Pro] so we are still in the cham-
pionship [battle], but with two
rounds to go, I don't have an idea
