Redondi Takes West Hare
Scrambles Boise Win
T
he final three rounds of the
AMA West Hare Scrambles
(WHS) Regional Championship
Series, Presented by MojoMoto-
Sport, will be do-or-die time for
the championship hopefuls.
However, 3 Bros./Kilmartin
Racing Gas Gas rider Giacomo
Redondi took a huge step closer
to that championship goal at
round five when he secured a
last-lap win over 3 Bros./Hatch
Racing Husqvarna's Dalton
Shirey and Carson City Motor-
sports KTM-mounted Austin
Serpa, the defending series
champ.
Eight points ahead of LiquiMo-
ly Beta's Zane Roberts going into
the race at the Owyhee Motor-
cycle Club (OMC) facility, 94-86,
Redmond's triumph, coupled
with an unfortunate technical
problem for Roberts, saw that
margin grow to 124-100.
Unlike the previous round in
Bellingham, Washington, in June,
the hot, dry summer dictated
extremely dry, dusty conditions
at OMC, so much so that the
Sunday morning race had to be
red-flagged and course rerouted
when one big sand hill became
practically impassable due to
white-out conditions in the dust.
In the afternoon race, there was
no red flag, but another hill had
to be cut out because of no vis-
ibility in the silt. Even running out
front was no guarantee of clean
air with the Pro leaders on the
second lap encountering lap-
pers.

Winning in Boise—his
second victory of the
season—gave Giacomo
Redondi a more comfortable
points cushion over Zane
Roberts, who had a bike
issue while running third.
