We looked back at the 1992 Motocross National Championship season...
We paid tribute to Jeff Ward who recently raced motocross as a pro
for the last time. The 31-year-old had earlier announced his retirement
after winning every major AMA National Motocross and Supercross title
since turning pro in 1977. He was loyal to Kawasaki throughout his racing
career... We covered Randy Hawkins' win at the Buckhorn National
Enduro in Redding, California...
Robbie Reynard was the top rider at
the Kawasaki Race of Champions at
Englishtown.
Mike LaRocco won the $100,000 U.S. Open of Supercross at the Las Vegas
MGM Grand Garden Arena and was pictured on the cover 20 years ago.
Max Biaggi also got a piece of the cover for winning the MotoGP round in
Malaysia... The new Yamaha YZ450F four-stroke proved its worth in the desert
after Ty Davis, riding the thumper for the first time, won the SoCal Hare &
Hound National... Suzuki's Josh Woods and Kawasaki's Ezra Lusk were
the top riders at the Kawasaki Race of Champions. Justin Barcia was the
65cc (7-9)-class champion and Kessler Cup winner, and Jason Lawrence
topped the Mini Shootout... Nicky Hayden won the Del Mar Short Track.
