LOOKING BACK
Honda's Jim Gibson was pictured on the Cycle News cover 40 years
ago for winning the 125cc Pro class at the Trans-Cal final at Saddleback
Park. Broc Glover won the 250cc class and Phil Larson the 500cc
class... Yamaha revealed its 1983 off-road models, including the new
IT490 which got a boost in displacement... BMW also took the wraps off
its '83 models... Elmer Trett took top honors at the IDBA Drag Racing
Championship Series final in Mississippi.
