found they warm the tire for
much less than that, and the bike
was better today than yesterday.
"I'm happy to finish second in
this championship, because I
fought with a really good guy, re-
ally talented rider like Jake with a
good team and bike."
Race one was a processional
affair with Gagne five seconds
up on Scholtz, who, in turn,
was 13 seconds up on Petrucci,
with PJ Jacobsen (Tytlers Cycle
Racing BMW) getting the better
of teammate Hector Barbera for
fourth. The top 10 was rounded
out by Hayden Gillim (Disrupt
Racing Suzuki), Jake Lewis (Vi-
sion Wheel M4 Ecstar Suzuki),
Petrucci was gracious in de-
feat in a season that was by far
the best showing for a Ducati in
the MotoAmerica-era of super-
bike competition.
"I am happy," Petrucci said
with a smile. "For sure, this race
at Barber we knew we needed
something crazy—the weather,
rain, something—to win this
championship because we have
been struggling this weekend.
"In race two, we raced with
a totally different bike. We
changed the cycle of the rear tire
because we found this season,
we warmed up the tire for over
two hours and this morning we
asked the Yamaha guys and

finished decent, I'd hopefully be able to
lock it in. Locking in the championship by
winning the last race is definitely the way
to end the perfect season."
1 KALEB DE KEYREL
1ST TWINS CUP
"The Twins Cup class really stepped it up
this year," De Keyrel said. "We've been
going a second to two seconds faster per
lap at every single track we went to. I
improved as a rider every single track, as
well. Results on paper, it wasn't the season
I wanted, but as far as me improving as
a rider, I went faster at every single track
we went to. So, I'm going to hold my head
high with that and just keep working hard
and keep pu ng my head down and try to
put on performances like today. Everything
was clicking. Everything was feeling really
good."
