By Peter Gunderson LAKE WHITN EY, TX, APR. 30-MAY I It was a cloud cover day for the opening event of the National Motosports Association Texas R eg i o n a l Q ualifier Series. There wa s pl ent y of competition wi th nam es like Billy Whitley , Kit Vick , Alley Semar, Kyle Landrum, Bryan Ab ernath y a n d Dann y Storbeck pres- ent. In the alway s exci t ing P ee Wee class it was Ro ss Dha yer who took top h onors i n both St ock a n d Modi- fi ed . In th e S toc k cl a ss Shan e McGee~ took sec o n d over all with Kenneth Polk takin g third. In the Modified cl a ss Mi chael Cook took seco n d and Ben Schooley got third. In th e 61cc Stock 6-8-years old it wa s Crispy Vreel and who pulled th e holeshot and went for th e win in both motos, Dha yer wa s abl e to h ang in there for seco nd both motos , for second ov er all. Shane McGee was abl e to go a four-three for a third place overall .s Crispy was a b le to go for a n o the r p erfect score in the Modified class with Terry Ri chards going for second ov erall , respectively . I n th e 83cc Modified class a crash on th e fir st lap put Dave Shade out fo r th e m oto , J .R . LaRose wa s a b le to get a g ood sta rt and win the gold. Shade won th e second moto, but with La Rose winning the overall. Derek Hanson put in two good rides to take second and little Dennis R ich ard s ca me in third overall.
