Team USA won the Motocross des Nations for the 12th consecutive year.
American Billy Liles, who teamed with Jeff Emig and Mike LaRocco, was
pictured on the cover from Manjimup, Australia... Larry Pegram won the
Fresno Mile, but the factory Harley-Davidson Team (Scott Parker, Chris
Carr and Kevin Atherton) refused to race due to poor racing conditions.
Parker said the track was dangerous and "...definitely not worth my life"...
Wayne Rainey wrapped up his third
straight World Championship Road
Race title in South Africa.
Colin Edwards, who was pictured on the cover 20 years ago, took
the World Superbike points lead in Assen. Edwards won both legs...
Valentino Rossi won a wet Portuguese Grand Prix in the wet...
