We asked the question: Should women race? We investigated the wave
of women getting into the sport of motocross and motorcycle racing in
general... Off-road star Gene Cannady was prepping for the upcoming
ISDT where he planned to ride a Jawa motorcycle, which was a relatively
unknown brand in the U.S. We chatted with Cannady and took a closer look
at his ride... We tested the Mexican built Carabela 125cc motocrosser. We
were impressed... We checked out the Geibke Special, the "ultimate" big
bike street bike.

LOOKING BACK
It was a big week in American motorcycle history. Bruce Penhall
won the Speedway Individual World Championship for the second
time in a row at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and on the same
weekend Yamaha's Danny LaPorte won the 250cc Motocross World
Championship at the final round in Sweden. Penhall was pictured on
the cover... Terry Cunningham won the Jack Pine National Enduro
in Michigan... Jay Springsteen won the Indy Mile... We interviewed
Kenny Roberts... Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha announced it was
boycotting the Trans-USA Motocross Series.
