O'Halloran, Mackenzie Top

cAMS Yamaha's Jason
O'Halloran and Tarran Mack-
enzie were the big winners at
round six of the Bennetts British
Superbike Championship at Thrux-
ton, August 12-14.
Of the three races, O'Halloran
won two of them and Mackenzie
the final race of the weekend.
O'Halloran started things off by
winning the Sprint race by less
than a second over Mackenzie,
who finished just ahead of Bradley
Ray on the Rich Energy OMG Rac-
ing Yamaha.
Glenn Irwin (Honda) was fourth
followed by Peter Hickman (BMW).
Race two was another thriller with
O'Halloran out dragging Mackenzie
and Ray to the finish line, taking the
win over Mackenzie by just 0.079
seconds and Ray in third. Just
0.165 seconds cover the trio across
the finish line.
Hickman was fourth and Lee
Jackson (Kawasaki) fifth.
Mackenzie got the last laugh in
race three. This time, Mackenzie
edged out Ray, who led going into
the final lap, by 0.019 seconds for
the win, with O'Halloran finishing a
close third.
Irwin was fourth and Jackson fifth.
O'Halloran enjoys a modest
lead in the championship with
331 points over Ray's 307. Lee
Jackson is a distant third with 219
points. Mackenzie, who missed
the first few rounds of the series, is
seventh with 170 points.
