MYOWNRACE
24 RJ HAMPSHIRE
5TH (3-8) 250MX
RJ Hampshire showed flashes of speed and
even scored a moto podium early in the day.
An eighth in moto two dropped him back in
the overall but he s ll managed a top five.
"We had posi ves today," Hampshire said. "I
was fast in qualifying, which I haven't been.
First moto, I felt like I got into a really good
flow early and was clicking good laps off
and landed back on the podium for the first
me since round one. Second moto, I got a
decent start and then just split out right a er
the finish. Someone went into the line I was
going for and I tried to get out of it and just
swapped the front. It was a bummer but we'll
definitely take the posi ves out of today."
1 JETT LAWRENCE
4TH (7-2) 250MX
An uncharacteris cally bad day for Je Law-
rence who crashed more today than he has
all season. A flip-flop 7-2 put him off the
podium for the first me this summer. "If
you want an example of when it's not your
day, it was not my day today! [laughs]," said
Je Lawrence. "The riding side of things
was great—I felt really good—but I think in
the first moto I was just pushing too much.
I was riding the track faster than it was
supposed to be ridden at that point in me;
I was washing a lot everywhere, and over-
leaning. I had two crashes, but thankfully I
was okay apart from some road rash on my
back. The second moto I got a really good
start but again pushed too hard and went
down again—not an ideal day."
