MOTOCROSS I 2022 ROCKY MOUNTAIN ATV/MC AMA AMATEUR NATIONAL MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
KTM Orange Brigade's Jer-
emy Fappani weathered a crazy
final moto to win the Supermini 1
(12-15) class national title, going
1-1-2 in a division that saw four
different riders with a legitimate
chance to win the overall during
the course of the final moto.
Leum Oehlhof pushed Fap-
pani for the lead early in moto
three, but several crashes
dropped the Orange Brigade
KTM rider to an eventual fourth
in the final moto, however his
2-2-4 was still good enough for
second overall.
Team Green Monster Energy
Kawasaki's Landan Gordan put
on a late charge to win the final
moto and finish fourth overall
with a 4-6-1, behind GasGas
Factory Amateur Racing's Tiger
Wood's 3-3-3 for third overall.
Wood enjoyed a bit of breath-
ing room at the front of the final
Supermini 2 (13-16) moto, while
Fappani, Oehlhof and Gordon
battled over second place after
the start of the winner-take-all
final moto.
Fappani went off the track on
lap four and rejoined in 10th.
Oehlhof broke away from the
battle and went after Wood, gain-
ing a bit of ground each lap until
lap seven when he passed Wood
Daxton Bennick
took the hard-earned
championship in the
highly competitive
250 B class.
Sophia Phelps successfully
defended her WMX title.
Casey Cochran topped the
Schoolboy 1 division.
