Avery Long turned in a break- out performance at the Ranch, dominating the B classes with four moto wins in six races en route to national titles in the 450 B and 450 B Limited divisions. Long topped the 450 B Limited division with an overwhelming 1-1-1 performance and added the 450 B class title with a 2-1-2 tally. In the 250 B division, KTM Orange Brigade's Daxton Ben- nick claimed his first big-bike Braswell, Towers and DiFran- cesco each took moto wins in the 250 Pro Sport class, but Braswell claimed the overall and the title after posting a 3-2-1 moto tally, which included an impressive run-away victory in the final moto. Towers was second overall with a 1-4-7, while NSA Yamaha's Jayden Clough finished third with a score of 5-7- 2. Unfortunately, DiFrancesco DNFed the final moto but still managed to finish 11th overall Sketchers SLR Honda) outran Braswell and Phoenix Honda Racing's Heath Harrison to win the thrilling final moto, giving him the overall victory for the division and the national title. Braswell was second overall with a 7-1-2 score, while Linville was third overall with a 2-6-5 moto finish. Martinez also took the national title in the 25+ class, going 1-1-2 to beat out SmarTop/MotoCon- cept's Honda's Mike Alessi's 2-2-1. The only other rider besides AUGUST 1-6, 2022 LORETTA LYNN'S RANCH / HURRICANE MILLS, TENNESSEE P88 MOTOCROSS I 2022 ROCKY MOUNTAIN ATV/MC AMA AMATEUR NATIONAL MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP thanks to second- and first-place finishes in motos one and two. Moto scores were chaotic heading into the final moto of the Open Pro Sport division, with DiFrancesco (1-4), Braswell (7-1), Clough (6-2), NSA Yamaha's Gage Linville (2-6) and 30-year- old Cole Martinez (4-3), each with an equal shot at the overall. Martinez (Monster Energy Martinez to win a Pro Sport class and an age class in the same year was Jeff Emig, who won the Open Pro Sport class and the 30+ class in 2003. Other special award winners included Top Amateur award win- ner Avery Long, Top Youth award winner Casey Cochran, and Top Vet award winner Mike Brown. NSA/Rock River Yamaha's Florida's Caden Braswell came into the race under the radar, but everyone knows who he is now! The GasGas rider was this year's top rider in the 250 and Open Pro Sport classes.
