Instead, the gap remains con-
stant with Beach and Daniels
now licking their chops at the
prospect of next week's Castle
Rock TT, followed by three
straight opportunities to flex the
MT-07 DT's muscles at big Mile
racetracks.
Additionally, Mees suffered
something of a setback in his
continued efforts to rewrite
the record books. Without the
Black Hills Half-Mile and only the
Volusia HM III remaining, Mees
no longer has an opportunity to
equal the legendary Scott Parker
for most all-time Half-Mile wins
before this season is out. That'll
have to wait until 2023.
AFT SINGLES
For the first time this season, a
rider from a team other than the
factory-backed Red Bull KTM
Factory Racing and Turner Rac-
ing Honda efforts stood atop the
box in the Parts Unlimited AFT
Singles class. That said, the vic-
tory still went to one hailing from
the factory-backed Estenson
Racing Yamaha team that took 13
wins and two titles in the previous
two seasons.

Compe ve Racing Frames/Lessley
Brothers' Nick Armstrong has faded from
early-season championship conten on, but
he proved that he can s ll be a factor at
the front by scoring his first podium since
the I-70 Half-Mile back in April. While a
full 60 points back of second, Armstrong
is solidly ranked third on the strength of a
win, three podiums, and six top fives this
season. Saturday's podium came follow-
ing a race-long fight up through the order
that didn't end un l the race's final lap. He
said, "I was buried down in probably ninth
place at one point. I just kept digging. I had
a li le struggle through the midseason, so
it just feels awesome to be back up here. I
can't thank my whole team (enough)… I've
got my dad here helping out. Everyone that
helps me out, it goes a long way."

all right. We got the motor built but we
weren't able to get it tuned. So, I was kind
of trying to make it work here myself. But
I'm glad to be here at the racetrack and
trying to contend for a win."
Those who qualified
for the SuperTwins
main event were all
awarded a single
point. Points leader
