Succumbs To
Injuries

oad racer Scott Briody succumbed to
injuries he suffered while competing at the
Brainerd International Raceway round of the MotoAmerica
Championship. Briody was 50 years old.
Briody, of Hannacroix, New York, was compet-
ing in the Stock 1000 class when he went down
in the first qualifying session for the class on
Friday, July 29.
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of
Scott Briody," said MotoAmerica COO Chuck
Aksland. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his
family, his team and the MotoAmerica paddock."
All on-track activity was canceled for the remainder of
Friday at BIR out of respect for Briody's passing.

Red Bull Straight Rhythm
Set For Comeback
A
fter a two-year hiatus, the Red Bull
Straight Rhythm (RBSR) is coming
back. The RBSR will run in conjunc-
tion with the Moto Beach Classic and
the Roland Sands' Super Hooligan Flat
Track in Huntington Beach, California,
October 15. Once again, the RBSR will
be all two-strokes.
Racing will remain the same, with
a best-of-three race format. Practice,
qualifying and finals all take place on
the same day, with the finals culminating
just before the sun sets.
Tickets are on sale now with early-
bird prices available until September 17.
Each single-day ticket (general admis-
sion $35 and bleacher seating $50)
allows entry to Red Bull Straight Rhythm
and Moto Beach Classic.

The Red Bull Straight Rhythm will return in October and take
place in conjunction with the Moto Beach Classic in Huntington
Beach, California.
