Vialle Coming To America F ormer MX2 World Champion Tom Vialle will shift gears at the end of the 2022 GP sea- son and move to the States to compete on the AMA circuit next year. Vialle will set his sights on winning the AMA 250cc Super- cross and 250cc Pro Motocross Championships. The 21-year-old won the MX2 Championship in 2020 and is currently battling for the title again. "We've had another strong sea- son this year so far in MX2 and the plan was to move to the MXGP class for 2023," said the French- man. "But I really felt this was the best time for me to try and see if I could make it in Supercross. I have a track near my home and there is a supercross tradition in my family. I'm desperate to see what I can do, even if I know it is a big learning curve to be ready for 2023. We have to keep realistic, but it is fantastic at the same time that I could speak with...the guys in the U.S. and to make this hap- pen as part of Red Bull KTM. This GP team is like another family to me, so it will be hard to leave but this is a really exciting new story for me, and I cannot wait to move and start it all." Robert Jonas, Head of Motor- sports Offroad, said, "We fully understood Tom's wish to carry on racing with the KTM 250 SX-F and seeing how he can ex- tend his career goals in the U.S. and especially for supercross. If he can learn and develop his potential as he did with us in the World Championship then he will be a big surprise. I'm sure the guidance of [Team Manager] Ian [Harrison] and Roger [DeCoster] in America will help him with the move and the switch. The team here have already done some supercross riding with him, and it seems Tom has a natural flair for the sport. It is a case of the right rider at the right time and with the right amount of experience at the top level." "We look forward to having a rider of Tom's caliber racing for Red Bull KTM in the USA," said Harrison. "We have heard a lot of good things about Tom; both in terms of racing and his personal side. We have no doubt he will rise to the top in the U.S. as well. I have personally spoken to Tom a few times, and I'm impressed with his attention to detail related to all the topics on racing and how to tackle moving to a differ- ent country." Liam Everts and Andrea Adamo will lead Red Bull KTM's MX2 team for 2023. CN IN THE WIND P28 Former MX2 Champion Tom Vialle will compete in AMA Supercross and Motocross next year.
