couldn't find the spot that time. I did all I could,
but second was all we got today."
Jason Anderson showed everyone that he's
a real podium contender and backed up his
Spring Creek results with another third overall.
The Kawasaki rider fell in moto one but worked
his way back to third place by the time the
checkers waved. It was the same result again
in the second moto, as he rode in no-man's
land for much of the race but kept it consistent
with 3-3 finishes. Another third for Anderson
solidifies his spot in the championship.
"I definitely was the third best guy out there,"
Anderson said. "It's tough when you're out
there riding alone, but I have to keep finding a
way to try and keep up with those guys [Sexton
and Tomac]. All in all, it was a good day today
and we'll see if we can keep it going for the
final four rounds."

TWO-STROKES
No, your ears did not deceive you,
you heard plenty of two-strokes at
Washougal. One of them was Car-
son Brown who raced a YZ250 to
18th overall with 15-20 moto scores.
Matthew Burkeen also raced a
YZ250, to 34th overall in the 450cc
class, while Gared Steinke finished
25th in the 250cc class aboard a
Husqvarna TC 125.
MXdN
It appears there is one spot left on
Team USA for the annual Motocross
des Nations. Chase Sexton and Eli
Tomac are two obvious picks for
the MX1 and Open divisions, but the
MX2 (250cc) rider is still up in the
air. There has been plenty of talk as
to who that rider should be. Did Jus-
tin Cooper just throw his hat into the
ring with his second-moto win, or
will someone like Jason Anderson
or Christian Craig drop down from
the 450s? Traditionally, Team USA
is revealed at Unadilla.
Briefly...
Tomac still holds the points lead.
