Jo Shimoda proved he has what it takes
to ba le the Lawrence brothers and did
so in both motos. Somehow, his 3-3 was
only good enough for fourth. "Overall,
it was a good day with me ge ng the
holeshot and leading in moto one,"
Shimoda said. "I was able to s ck with
the leaders for a long me and win some
hard ba les, which is nice because I think
my speed was off today."
"That was a really good moto
for me," Sexton said. "Eli was on
me, but I kept fending him off.
I finally got away and brought
it home. It means a lot to me
to win like that, and I'm really
looking forward to these last four
races. I couldn't be more happy
to battle with a guy like Eli."
While Tomac's win streak
comes to an end, he still con-
trols the points lead. With the
series heading into a two-week
break, it will be interesting to see
who returns recharged and who
will carry momentum through the
final rounds. As Tomac is likely
in the last outdoor season of his
career, we imagine he is more
motivated than ever to win.
"I was pushing," Tomac said.
"I was so close and ate a lot of
dirt. I made so many pushes but

all," he said. "Not gonna lie, on paper it
should've been be er for me, but that's
how she goes. I'm stoked with my bike
