The Unadilla 250cc Motocross Grand Prix was featured on the cover 30
years ago. Jeff Stanton won both motos. It was his third-straight win at
the event... Will Davis won the AMA GNC/Camel Pro Series round at the
Parkersburg Half-Mile... We had coverage of the Hungarian Grand Prix,
where Eddie Lawson made history by giving Cagiva its first-ever GP victory.
Choosing cut slicks over full rain tires on a damp day in Budapest, Lawson
passed Wayne Rainey for the win...

the AMA Amaterur/Youth Dirt Track
National Championships in Illinois.
Road racing from Laguna Seca dominated the cover of Cycle News
20 years ago. Troy Bayliss and Colin Edwards split wins in World
Superbike and Eric Bostrom reigned in AMA Superbike. All three
were pictured... Ricky Carmichael kept his perfect season going by
winning the Troy, Ohio, round of the outdoor Motocross Nationals.
James Stewart won both 125cc motos... We rode Fabrizio Meoni's
Dakar-winning KTM LC8 950 Rally... Freddie Crosset won the AMA/
NATC Trials round in Tennessee... Brian Garrahan won the Funky
Chicken National Hare Scrambles in Oregon.
