lap I was completely gone out of
the picture," Tomac said.
Sexton's 4-2 still got him on
the podium.
Last week's Hangtown winner
Jason Anderson didn't quite have
the magic he had in Sacramento,
going 3-6 for fourth overall, while
Cairoli made good use of his
great starts to nab fifth overall
(5-4) and had the honor of being
KTM's top finisher.
Sexton's consistency keeps
him at the top of the championship
leaderboard. Of the six motos so
far, he's finished in the top two in
five of them, his worst finish so far
fourth. Sexton leads Roczen by
five points and Tomac by 14 points.
Anderson sits fourth, 23 points
behind Sexton.
"I obviously won because of
Chase [crashing]...but I also
battled really hard with Eli to stay
in second place," which ultimate-
ly rewarded him with the moto
victory and overall win.
Before Sexton went down, Roc-
zen and Tomac engaged in a thrill-
ing battle for second place. Roczen
fought hard to keep the position,
while Tomac hammered away at
him. Eventually, Tomac went over
a berm during a pass attempt that
ended his charge, and he suddenly
dropped way back (but still in third).
Tomac later revealed he was deal-

second moto] my brake started
fading and with two to go the thing
was gone, so that's why that last

For the second round in a row,
KTM's Tony Cairoli and Ryan
Dungey have finished in successive
order in the 450MX class. Cairoli is
slated for one more round but that
could change. The pair, Dungey
and Cairoli, are currently sixth and
seventh in points, respectively.
ANDERSON ALTITUDE
A few years back, Jason Anderson
openly struggled with tracks in
higher elevations such as Thunder
Valley, but this appears to be a
thing of the past. A lot of that has to
do with Anderson building his own
practice track in his home state of
New Mexico and training more at
higher elevation. Anderson went
3-6 for fourth overall.
BOGLE OUT, WELTIN IN
The Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki team
announced earlier this week that
Justin Bogle will sit out the rest of
the Pro Motocross season saying
that a grueling Supercross season
"has compelled Justin to press the
reset button and recover." With "no
timetable" being set for a return, the
team hired Marshall Weltin as a fill-in
for the remainder of the summer.
Weltin was the highest finishing
Suzuki this weekend, going 15-13
for 13th overall.
Briefly...
Jason Anderson rode well in Colorado
but missed out on the podium.
