MW has taken the covers off a
special M 1000 RR in cel-
ebration of BMW Motorsport
GmbH's half century of operation.
Dubbed the BMW M 1000 RR 50
Years M, this most super of super-
bikes comes with all the stuff the base
M 1000 RR comes with that makes it
legal for WorldSBK racing and a few
tasty extras thrown in just because.
Available in two editions, the
first being the base M 1000 RR
for $32,495 MSRP, plus an extra
$4500 for the 50 Years M Pack-
age, this is BMW putting its best su-
perbike foot forward as it celebrates
a true milestone for the company
with the formation of BMW Motor-
sport GmbH starting BMW on the
road to countless two- and four-
wheel race wins and titles.
Graced in stunning Sao Paulo
Yellow color (alongside the tradi-
tional BMW Motorsport red, white
and blue), the 50 Years M edition
gets a host of carbon fiber goodies
in the carbon front and rear fenders,
upper fairing side panels, left and
right carbon tank covers, a carbon
chain guard and sprocket cover.
The 50 Years M gets billet alumi-
num engine protectors, folding brake
and clutch levers, M rider's rearsets,
and front brake lever guard.
