eLOCAL EVENTS -;'i:; m Malcolm Sollem (3) and Robin Hall (53) had a close dice in the 250cc Novice class at Edwards Air Force Base. The race was 'the final round of CRC's Sponsorship Series. Foste~ ffies to Edwards MX win By Greg Robertson EDWARDS, CA, NOV. 29 Pat Foster totally dominated both 250cc Novice mows to capture the overall win at California Racing Club's final round of the Sponsorship Series at Edwards Air Force Base. Fester jumped out to an immediate lead in the first moto with Mi1c.e Gallegos and Todd Broussard dose behind. It took Broussard two laps to find a way around Gallegos and set out after Foster. Up front Foster was putting in a flawless race, not allowing Broussard to gain any ground. Foster took th~ win by a comfortable margin over Broussard, who had distanced himself from Gallegos. Chip Rotan worked hard the entire race from his ninth~a~ start to earn fourth place at the checkered lobin Halls' second-moto holeshot was shon-lived, as Broussard shot past before the completion of lap one. Damon Clag pushed Hall back one more position before going down hard in a whoop section. Foster was obviously the fastest rider on the track, slicing through the field from a lOth-place start to the runner-up position in just two laps. Broussard couldn't do much more than look on as Foster blew past him on the third lap and pulled away to win by 15 seconds. Gallegos and Rotan also worked throu~h the pack to finish third and fourth, respecuvely. Suzuki-mounted Tim Telford grabbed the first 125cc Pro moto holeshot but Ryan Carlisle led after the first circuiL Derek Natvig closed in and ovenook Carlisle on the third lap and slowly pulled away to win with five . seconds to spare. Carlisle had the quickest reaction time and led David Barrett and Jeff Maybery in moto two. Natvig gated sixth and quickly moved into third place. Barrett was making Carlisle work for hIS money while Natvig was dosing in on them bOth. Natvig misjudged the finishline jump midway through the moto, doing a slow-motion fall in the deep sand and allowing Carlisle and Barrett to easily collect the top two money positions. PIW A: I.
