About 45 riders attended the seminar where Code introduced a new steering technique that will be covered in his new book - A Twist of the Wrist, Volume II - which will be available in November. Camel Pro Series competitor Will Davis of Goldsboro, North Carolina, had the pins taken out of his wrist last' week, but will remain sidelined until next season. Davis was involved in an accident at the August 22 Indianapolis Mile and suffered injuries to his wrist, ankle and shoulder. ''I'd hoped to make it back before the end of the year, but it looks like Daytona now," Davis said. Davis waS fifth in the Camel Pro Series point standings at the time of his accident, having scored two National wins aboard the Honda RS750 owned by Louis Aruta and Craig Rogers. "I would like to have made one of the last two races, as my top 10 in the points status is up for grabs," said Rogers, "but we will just have to wait for the new year." Team Obsolete's Rob Iannucci has announced that Pauline Hallwood, the widow of road racing legep.d Mike Hailwood, has donated one of her late husband's trophies to be awarded each year successively to the winner of the AHRMA 500 Premier National Championship. The award will be known as the HailwoodCup. Because of Team Obsolete's role in arrangin,g the donation, team member Dave Roper will defer to the second place finisher this year. The nationwide search for the next Ms. Harley-Davidson is underway. Krisann Whitley, the current Ms. Harley-Davidson, ends her two-year reign in March when the new Ms. HD is crowned during the 1993 Daytona Cycle Week festivities in Daytona Beach, Florida. To be eligible for the Ms. Harley-Davidson title, female contestants must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid motorcycle operator's license, and be a resident of the U.S. or Canada. Contest information and contestant applications are available at all Harley-Davidson dealers. The application deadline is November 1. Petersen Publishing Co. has announced that it will launch a new bimonthly magazine titled Sport Rider in early 1993. The magazine will focus on "high-performance racer-replica machines." Nick Ienatsch will move from sister publication Motorcylist to head the Sport Rider staff. The debut issue will appear on newsstands February 9. Chadd Watts, the mechanic for Kawasaki's Ryan Hughes, was back to work at the September 27 Steel City National MX after missing several rounds while recovering from serious injuries he received in an automobile accident. "I just want to thank everyone for all the support they've given me," said Watts. "It sur.e is good to be back." International Sport Promotions of Granada Hills, California, has announced it will host three nights of AMA-sanctioned speedway racing during Daytona Cycle Week next March. Billed as the U.S. Southern Invitational Classic, the racing will take place at the Volusia County Fairgrounds March 1"3 (Monday through Wednesday nights). For more information, call 818/360-6258. Cliff Jensen, 72, passed away on September 291n San Jose, California. Jensen, the owner of Jensen Cycles in San Jose from the late 1960s until the early 1980s, was a noted tuner of twostroke motors and he helped many young racers in District 36, including AMA 250cc Grand Prix Champion Jim Filice. His three sons - Gary, Jackie and Danny - were all accomplished .racers. Besides his sons, Jensen is survived by his wife Delores, a brother, and three grandchildren. Kocinski signs to ridea250(( Suzuki F ormer 250cc World Champion John Kocinski has signed a contract to ride a Lucky Strike-backed Suzuki RGV,250 in the 1993 World_Championship 250cc Road Race Series, thus abandoning the 500ccGrand Prix class after finishing third in this year's title chase, riding for Kenny Roberts' Marlboro Yamaha team. Kocinski recently completed three days of testing aboard the Suzuki RGV250 at the Jerez Circuit in Spain, smashing 1992 Spanish GP winner Loris Reggiani's race-lap record and also Luca Cadalora's pole-setting time from this year's GP. He will be the sole rider on the oneĀ·man team. "I love the chassis," the 24-year-old rider said. ''There's some work to be done on the engine and the suspension. But we're'starting real early to make the 1993 bike as competitive as possible, and I'm impressed by the dedicated attitude of the Suzuki factory and the Tech-3 pit crew. I'm real happy. I had fun out there and I can hardly wait for next season." Kocinski, who won the 250cc World Championship in 1990 aboard a Marlboro Yamaha, finished third in this year's 500cc World Championship after ending up fourth in 1991, his rookie season of 500cc GP racing. The Modesto, California, resident won two 500cc GPs in his two seasons of 500cc racing. "If only Yamaha, the team and myself could have concentrated on making a bike to suit my style, I feel I could have raced for better than third overall," Kocinski said. "I only go racing for one thing - to finish first. To do that, you need the right machinery, and the, right kind of support. I'm talking total dedication. The factory Suzuki and the Tech-3 team can offer me that, and for roy part I mean to go out and win races for them."
