Scott Novotny, president of Racers First Promotions, said his group would like to see three or five such races run in 1993 under the banner of the Outlaw Pro Rolling Thunder Series. "We've got to be realistic about the series, and crawl before we walk. Good steady growth and good decisions are imperative at this point." Novotny said the .initial race and, hopefully, subsequent series races will be run much the same as AMA pro dirt track events. Although it's not official yet, the 1993 Camel Supercross schedule will again feature 15-16 events, with the opening round set to be held in Orlando, Florida, in January and the final round in Las Vegas, Nevada, in May. A new sound limit for motorsports events held at California fairgrounds was announced by the California State Fair Committee. The new limit of 95 dBA at 100 feet is substantially lower than the 102 dBA at 50 feet limit of the past, and Camel Pro dirt trackers in particular will need to meet the new requirements.
