One good turn deserves another..• had his hands full with a hardcharging Ingram. ~oeder rode the high line, while Ingram elected to stay in the middle of the race track. Roeder held on for the win ahead of Ingram, while Danny Koelsch and Kurt Rehmert finished third and fourth, respectively. Those four riders transferred directly to the main event. The second heat was won by an unfamiliar face as Dave Rayburn notched the win, and posted what would be the second-fastest heat race time of the night. Erichsen, Scott Stump and Greg Sims filled out the top four and readied themselves for the main. The third and fastest'heat race of the night belonged to Pegram. Harold Dorsey turned in a fine ride for second, but was no match for Pegram. Price and Kris Kiser rounded out the top ·four, while Chance Darling finished fifth and would be the evening's alternate rider. Fast heat winner Pegram selected the outside pole at the start of the main and took advantage of it by leading the field into turn one. The rider on the move, though, was Price. In the words of his tuner, Pops Sweeten, "Don't ever give th~t boyan outside starting position on a track like thisl" Price, using an aggressive riding style, forced his way into the lead 'before the completion of lap one. Roeder was not impressed, and dove under Price in turns one and two at the start of the third lap. With that, Roeder never looked back and left Price to keep the field at bay. Price was up ·to the task, and easily held Pegram, ·Ingram and Stump behind. Well ahead of Price, Roeder crossed the finish line the winner aboard his Roeder's H-D/Mike's H-D/Herb Harris/Sartin Trucking/KKILC Racing/ Huron River H.O.G.lSoutheast H-D/ Sherman Farms/Fulton Ent.lBell/ Johnson's Body Shop-backed HarleyDavidson. After Mashue's fatal accident, the Junior main was regridded and James Hart was quick to grab the lead. Once into the point, Hart never looked back and romped off with the win. At the halfway point, Pat Buchanan, Jess Roeder and Roy Hart battled over the runner-up spot. No changes inposition were made, and. James Hart led Buchanan, Roy Hart and Roeder across the finish line. R.]. Overholt grabbed the holeshot in the Pro-Am main, and Bob Williams, Jake Zemke,' Hacker and Jesus Crawford argued over second. Hacker eventually took control of the spot and began to reel in Overholt. Hacker found his way past, and his task was made even easier when Overholt slid out on the last lap. Zemka motored home second, ahead of Williams. "I was taking my time reeling him in," said Hacker. "I knew I could catch · h 1m. " Zemke was happy with his secondplace finish, stating, "This is only my second pea gravel race, all of the guys back home warned me about this stufL" CN 1992 MOTORCYCLE MADNESS ON PRIME NETWORK (WGP denotes World Grand Prix; AMA denotes AMA National Rood Race Series) Air Date April 30 May 7 May 14 May21 May 28 June4 June 11 June 14* June 18 June 25 July 2 July 9 EventNenue WGP-Japan WGP - Australia WGP - Malaysia WGP-Spoin AMA - Laguna Seca WGP-Italy AMA - Laguna Seea WGP - Germany WGP-Europe AMA - Charlotte AMA - Charlotte WGP - Germany July 16 .
