Earl Tops Blue Ridge East
Hare Scrambles
T
here was a massive turnout for
round three of the AMA East
Hare Scrambles Championship,
which also acted as round one of
the VXCS Championship. More
than 15 riders alone filled the AA
grid for the weekend's premier
race.
Beta-mounted Ethan Ficklin,
KTM rider Stephen Edmondson,
Honda pilot Robby Norwood and
Kawasaki rider Evan Earl ended
up spending all afternoon battling
it out in the lead pack, with Ficklin
leading the way after lap one.
The lead position would change
several times, while Earl started
finding his groove and started
picking riders off until he had the
lead. He set the fastest lap time
of the race en route to the front.
Once there, he led to the finish
but could never truly relax, be-
cause Edmondson was never far
behind.
Edmondson ended up sec-
ond, with Norwood filling out the
podium.
Ficklin and KTM rider Dylan Dela-
cruz completed the top five.
