In the next two races, Anderson got the best of Tomac, but the number-three Yamaha kept the number-21 Kawasaki in sight, and that was all Tomac needed in order to come away with the ultimate prize on the night. "It was a night of consistency," Tomac said. "I felt like moto one I got pretty lucky with a lot of wild stuff going on. Then motos two and three, that was the good 450SX Tomac again showed why he's the 2022 points leader after claiming his third win of the year, keeping pace with champion- ship rival Jason Anderson's three wins. The Yamaha rider, Tomac, captured the overall victory in Texas despite not winning a race. His consistent 3-2-2 finishes did the trick. I felt good on the track, I made some great passes and was pre y fast. As the track broke down, I just struggled a bit, and I didn't get the best of starts in the second and third races, which made it really difficult. And when you get stuck in a li le bit of groove, you just get stuck there." Jason Anderson won two of the three feature races but a questionable pass attempt that put him and Malcolm Stewart to the ground in race one most likely cost Anderson his third consecutive win.
