ROUND 7 / FEBRUARY 19, 2022 U.S. BANK STADIUM / MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA P54 SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES Second place went to the ever-crafty Webb. Webb had yet to podium since round one at the season opener and looked to be in a West Coast slump until Saturday. Aboard the all-new KTM, Webb grabbed the holeshot and led the first seven laps of the main event. Hard to believe, but this marked the first time the defending champ ran up front all year! After giving up the lead to Sexton, Webb got shuffled back a few spots and rode in fourth for most of the race's second half. Crashes by both Mal- colm Stewart and Sexton bumped Webb back into podium territory as he crossed the line in second. "I think with the old bike I gelled with it so well," Webb said after alluding to a new set- ting for his KTM. "I just felt like it was built for me in Supercross, but with a new bike you're learning non-stop, and the conditions are ever-changing. We race on so many different tracks, and soils, and dirt, so you MYOWNRACE 21 JASON ANDERSON 1ST 450SX "The track broke down a lot by the main event tonight but, that's something we kind of expect with some of the East Coast tracks," said three- me winner Jason Anderson. "I've been doing my best to prepare for it while prac cing in California by riding with the Pro Circuit team every Thursday to sort of simulate race condi- ons. That helped tonight but, this was s ll a tough track for pushing the pace, and you kind of just had to let the race come to you." 27 MALCOLM STEWART 4TH 450SX We can't talk about Minneapolis with- out men oning Malcolm Stewart. The Husqvarna rider won his heat race and ran as far up as third in the main event before a fall set him back. Another consistent fourth for Stewart moves him to third in the overall rankings. "It was a good day today," Stewart said. "I got my first heat- race win of the year, I'm really thankful for that one, and I felt real good all day. I got a really good start in the main and I felt like I was adap ng to the track. I was riding my own race and I just made a big mistake with a few minutes to go, but that's part of racing. I'm happy though, it's another top-five and we were so close again! We're going to take what we've learned from this race and move forward." Marvin Musquin made it a KTM 2-3, giving the Red Bull KTM crew something to get excited about for the first time this season.
