27 MALCOLM STEWART
5TH 450SX
Malcolm Stewart ran as high as second in
the early stages of Saturday night's main
event. Many have the number-27 picked
as a possible race winner this year, but
the Husqvarna rider slipped back to fi h
by the me the race ended. "I got a really
good start—we're slowly star ng to get
these starts now and I'm really excited
about that. I know that we're P5 but
we're s ll in the fight and we'll be ready
to go for Phoenix."
1 COOPER WEBB
8TH 450SX
It was another quiet night for Cooper
Webb. The defending series champion
started 10th, pped over late in the race,
and salvaged an eighth. A er four rounds,
Webb is s ll fourth in points. "Extremely
tough night tonight at A2," he said. "I
didn't get a great start and I was pre y
buried in the pack early on. I was able to
make some passes and get up to around
seventh, and then ended up falling back-
wards a few spots. I was able to get back
up, make some more passes and ended
up eighth. Definitely not a great night
at all, but the only thing we can do now
is regroup and try to get be er for next
weekend in Arizona."
Malcolm Stewart (27) and Anderson
(21) couldn't parlay good starts into
wins, but both had a solid night. Tomac
(3) says he has been working on his
starts—it's been showing.
Christian Craig captured
his third 250SX main win,
but he had to work for it a
bit more than usual.
