me, so I had to go for it early. I'm
stoked on a good racing pass."
Although Anderson finished
10th, there appeared to be no
bad blood between the two as
they went at it with some friendly
social media banter about the
pass on Sunday morning.
Marvin Musquin (Red Bull
KTM) had a controversial night.
The KTM rider started back
in ninth and worked his way
through the pack before col-
lecting himself and Stewart.
Musquin remounted faster than
Stewart and went on to fin-
ish fourth, while Stewart was
seventh. Stewart showed his dis-
pleasure with Musquin moments
after the race and exchanged
some heated words with the
number-25. An AMA official and
even Stewart's mechanic made
sure the confrontation didn't
escalate into anything more.
Joey Savatgy showed good
speed on the night and eventu-
ally rode his Rocky Mountain
ATV-MC/WPS/KTM across the
line in eighth, ahead of Pless-
inger and Anderson.
"I set myself up in that corner
where he passed me better for
the next section and I was able
to stick that," Barcia said. "And
honestly, he probably would've
gapped me if I didn't get that,

WHAT HAPPENED TO
FERRANDIS?
Dylan Ferrandis was touted as a
player in the 450 class coming into
A1. Paired up with Yamaha transplant
Eli Tomac, Ferrandis looked to be
a serious threat in his second year
in the big class. The number-14
got off to a decent start but a small
get-together with Chase Sexton saw
the Yamaha rider stall his bike in the
tricky whoop section. "In the main
event, I got a really bad start, but
I moved my way up. I was feeling
pretty good, pretty strong, and was
coming back to the top five. Then I
had an issue and tried to come back
but made a mistake and crashed.
So, it was not a really good night, but
I know now that I'm capable of riding
out front in the 450 class."
TOMAC ON HIS
YAMAHA DEBUT
"It was a little bit of a slower start
than what we wanted this season,"
said Eli Tomac after finishing sixth
in the 450SX main. "It really came
down to two things tonight: the
starts, and also, I was struggling
a little bit with the whoops. It was
a tough track; probably one of the
toughest Anaheim 1s that we've had
in quite some time. On a positive
note, I had really good qualifying
sessions all day, so I know I can be
fast and be there. I just have to put
it all together. It's always easier said
than done, but it's possible."
