SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES
MYOWNRACE
29 MICHAEL MOSIMAN
6TH 250SX WEST
Michael Mosiman might be another
rider to challenge Craig for the 250SX
West tle. The Factory GasGas rider set
the pace early, taking the win in his heat
race. However, he was a vic m of first-lap
carnage and went down in the first set of
whoops in the main. "It's unfortunate how
the main started out, and once I was back
in the pack, it's pre y hec c back there,
but I'm proud of how I rode and I'm leav-
ing with a ton of posi ves. I think I'm very
much in it for the championship and very
healthy."
30 JO SHIMODA
7TH 250SX WEST
In his second year with Monster Energy
Pro Circuit Kawasaki, many had Jo Shi-
moda picked as a dark horse on the West
Coast. The young Japanese rider qualified
fi h and took second in his heat race
early in the night. However, Shimoda was
a li le overanxious at the start of the
main and hit the star ng gate and was
forced to come through the pack from
nearly dead last. "The rider next to me
flinched and it caused me to get stuck in
the gate," said Shimoda. "They were hold-
ing the gate a long me and I just made
a mistake. I had a long race ahead of me,
but I worked really hard to pass as many
people as I could and stay up."
Eli Tomac (3) made his
Yamaha debut at A1. It
wasn't a spectacular night
for the 2020 Supercross
Champion who finished
sixth, but he at least
looked comfortable on the
bike. Justin Brayton (10)
was second in his heat,
13th in the main.
Jason Anderson
looked ultra-confident
and fast aboard the
factory Kawasaki. A
bad start and a run-in
with Barcia relegated
him to 10th.
