ROUNDS 7-8/JULY 13-14, 2013 MID-OHIO SPORTS CAR COURSE/LEXINGTON, OHIO AMA SUPERBIKES AMA NATIONAL GUARD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP BY LARRY LAWRENCE PHOTOGRAPHY BY BRIAN J. NELSON F P80 ive races. That's how long it took for Josh Hayes to recover from a disastrous season-opening race meeting. A pair of DNFs at Daytona opened the discussion inside motorcycle racing circles as to how long it would take, or even if Hayes could come back to win a fourth straight AMA Pro Superbike Championship. Even Hayes was amazed how quickly he was back in his rightful place atop the series. "I'm still really surprised at how quickly it happened," Hayes admitted after his victory. "I guess I didn't count on race wins in this series paying off as well as they do. When you're in the points lead you don't notice points accumulating quite the same I don't think. The fact that I've caught up BACK ON TOP Hayes and Herrin Win, Hayes Takes Series Lead at Mid-Ohio
