Beaubier comes from behind to sweep
Mid-Ohio Daytona Sportbike races

f it would have been a quartermile drag race Cameron Beaubier would have been in trouble. Fortunately for the dominant
Daytona Sportbike series leader,
the races at Mid-Ohio Sports
Car Course were road races and
they were miles long - and that's
where he specializes. Beaubier
overcame poor starts on his Yamaha Extended Service/Monster Energy Yamaha R6 in both
Saturday and Sunday's Daytona
SportBike races at Mid-Ohio to
win both. The wins were his fifth
and sixth of the season and his
mid-season points lead grew to a
commanding 45 points over Jake
Gagne as Beaubier has won all
but a single race this year.
Saturday's race was vintage
Beaubier. He got off to a bad
start, ran sixth early on, and then
methodically made his way to the
front on a track known for being
difficult to pass on. He broke
through after six laps to take the
lead, but Gagne was hanging
tough. Gagne put his RoadRace
Factory Yamaha back in front of
the series leader for a few laps,
but as has been the case all season Beaubier is tough as nails in
